Korin means halo and is a cover of the Tenniscoats song, both in english translation and Japanese. Quite a few people have done versions of this song and so I thought I better do one as a homage to my label bosses and musical heroes. Bungee Jump is a reworking of a song by label mate Yuko Ikema. It features percussion by my good friend Greg Perano of Hunters and Collectors and The Deadly Hume fame. My sometime band mate Oliver Proudfeet did some beautiful backing vocals.
Uchiage is a fun collaboration with Saya from Tenniscoats. Uchiage means afterparty and I woke her up early the day after a gig we did together to write it. I was a little eager, it being something of a dream collaboration for me.
The last song, Tokyo Disneyland (Mainichi Matsuri) is a collaboration with Colloid when they were touring through Melbourne a few years back. Mainichi Matsuri means "everyday is a festival", which it is at Tokyo Disneyland. And which it kind of is in everyday life too in a way...
