1.
Technology can break/A peg or a string/A pedal or a chain/A heart or a brain/Your voice as it sings/There's no number you can ring/Put on a brave face/You know as well as me/Technology can break/And it's as plain as plain can be/It's all technology
2.
Savings are slavings/that’s what the boy at the bike shop said/What would he know, the little bambino, with skin like bloody tissues and a hat like women’s underwear/Thanks for the joke, that’s what matters the most, keeps us human, when need is at hand/Maybe he does know maybe I’m raving, should be listening, about savings and slavings

about

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A SONG, WHAT WOULD IT SOUND LIKE?
Status Update Songs are real life in miniature. Recorded “on the run, during lunch breaks and between appointments” and using “what’s at hand to get at what’s at heart” are a musical log book captured in some of the most unusual of locations and situations. No. 5 “Burnt Coffee” was recorded in a car stuck in traffic during torrential rain using the wind screen wipers as backing rhythm. No. 10 “Never Less Beholden” was recorded in an airport waiting lounge, complete with boarding call announcements and miscellaneous beeps and pings as accompaniment. No.12 “Forest Beach Song” was recorded at a picnic ground in a forest, where the sound of the forest fauna meets the sound of the portable Casiotone keyboard. The fourth track from this CD, Status Update Song No.3 “Savings Are Slavings”, was recorded whilst walking through Edinburgh Gardens.
For the first time, songs from the Status Updates website form an EP for download! The two songs on this CD version follow the same format as the upcoming album, featuring both the “deluxe version” studio re-record and the warts and all, lo fi and dirty, original version of each song. 14 Status Update Songs is due for Release in May 2011 through Diligent Mowing.
